Silk is a Canadian born academic. She was raised in Fredericton. Ilkay Silk is the daughter of Peter Silk, an academic and Anna Silk, an actor, director and producer. She is also a playwright. Anna has some of her earliest memories of going to play rehearsals. Silk was a part of a variety of commercials where she was featured at a young age.
